The Finance Officer will work in a team that is responsible for end-to-end treasury functions, general ledger reconciliations, statutory reporting, payroll processing and customer billing.

The objectives of the position are ensuring day-to-day front office banking activities are completed in a timely manner, adherence to internal controls. The position also assists with debt management, payroll support and general ledger reconciliations.

We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Groundwater and Streams Team Leader to manage water resources and water licensing across some of the driest parts of Victoria.

We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Hydrology and Water Supply Systems Team Leader to join our Water Resources team; managing the water held in our Grampians reservoirs, and water security for the 71 towns and 9000 rural customers we supply.

This role is responsible for providing hydrological advice to our business and stakeholders, and planning the operation of our reservoir system to efficiently deliver water for a range of uses. The role will see you lead the allocation of water resources from our reservoirs, the monitoring of our water supply catchments, and development of water supply and demand forecasts.

Our ideal candidate will have a background in water resources or hydrology, feel confident working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and bring a well-developed technical skillset.

Following internal promotions, GWMWater currently has two ongoing opportunities for Water Services Operators in the Wimmera region. The positions undertake works on all water and wastewater assets to ensure they are maintained in optimum working condition. If you have a strong commitment to customer service, are reliable, a quick learner and work well in a team, then you are the type of person we are looking for.

The Water Systems Officer will coordinate GWMWater’s recycled water and biosolids programmes including the off-site soil testing programme and administer recycled water and biosolid agreements.

The successful applicant will work closely with Infrastructure and Service Delivery staff to assist in developing and maintaining wastewater assets to meet Health and Environment Management Plan requirements and the Environment Protection Act 2017.

This position would be ideal for a person with one-to-two years’ experience with a passion for sustainability.

The OH&S Officer is primarily responsible for providing Operational Health and Safety (OH&S) support and advice to the Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams. This includes site visits to observe staff and contractor activities, conduct inspections, conduct audits and associated reporting.

The role is also responsible for providing safety advice and information, identifying improvements to existing processes and practices and contributing to Safety Plans.

Assessment

All applications are assessed by a selection panel. Each member of the selection panel compares the information from each applicant with the position description selection criteria, as well as against the other applicants.

 

Interview

If you're selected for interview, we'll invite you to meet us for a discussion about your skills and experiences in relation to the role.

At this point, we may also:

  • have a chat with your referees to get a better understanding of you as a person and your suitability for the role
  • ask you to undergo Psychometric Testing, simply as part of the selection process.

  • We may ask that you take a medical examination, depending on the role. This is so we're sure that we won't be risking your health as part of your role.
