Crews responding to Horsham sewer network pressures
Very high rainfall in Horsham over the past 48 hours has placed significant strain on GWMWater's sewer network.
Our crews are working around the clock to reduce the risk of sewer spills and respond to issues across the network.
Residents can help reduce pressure on the sewer network by avoiding unnecessary or excessive water use over the coming days. Normal household use can continue, however reducing activities that generate large volumes of wastewater will help ease demand on the system while crews continue emergency response works.
It is also important to ensure that rainwater from roofs, yards and surface runoff is not connected to sewer pipes. Stormwater entering the sewer network can increase the risk of overflows during heavy rainfall events.
We appreciate the community's support while crews continue this important work.
