Investing in Ararat’s water future
Ararat commercial and industrial customers will soon benefit from upgrades to the city’s water network which will improve water flow and pressure.
Several planned water interruptions will be required across Ararat between October and December 2026 while Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water contractors complete upgrades at key locations throughout town.
The works will increase capacity within the water network, providing improved water pressure in Ararat’s urban area. This will particularly benefit commercial and industrial customers and help provide the firefighting infrastructure needed to support the growth of existing businesses and new industry.
Customers affected by planned water interruptions will be notified directly by GWMWater, including details of alternative drinking water supplies available during the works.
Information about planned interruptions is available on the GWMWater website.
Customers can also register their mobile phone number to receive updates about outages and other water supply notifications by calling 1300 659 961 during business hours.
Customers with questions about the planned works can contact GWMWater on 1300 659 961. To report an unplanned service fault, call 1800 188 586.
