GWMWater seeks independent chair for community panel

Lead the conversation on future water prices

GWMWater is looking for an Independent Chairperson to help lead community discussions that will shape its 2028-2033 Price Submission.

The successful applicant will chair a Community Panel, bringing together customers from across the Grampians, Wimmera and Mallee to provide advice and recommendations on future water and wastewater services, investment priorities and pricing proposals.

The chairperson role is a paid position, with remuneration set at $500 per day. The appointment will run from November 2026 to June 2027 and involve chairing up to five panel meetings, as well as supporting the panel's final report to GWMWater's Board.

GWMWater Executive Manager Customer and Employee Experience Adele Rohde said the independent chair would ensure the panel's discussions were fair, balanced and productive.

"We are looking for someone with strong facilitation and leadership skills who can help create an environment where community members feel comfortable sharing their views and challenging ideas," she said.

"The Community Panel will play an important role in helping us understand customer priorities as we develop our next Price Submission."

Recruitment for Community Panel members will open in the coming weeks. The panel will reflect the diversity of GWMWater's customer base, including people from towns, farming communities, businesses and other key stakeholder groups.

Applications for the independent chairperson will close at 9am on Monday, 28 September.
