Finishing: 10:50pm, 29 November 2020

The Do Not Drink Tap Water Notice for Manangatang has been lifted.

As a precaution, it is recommended that customers flush internal taps for two minutes to draw fresh water through internal plumbing.

Water quality monitoring confirms that the water is safe to drink from the tap and use as normal after internal flushing. Tap water can also be used for preparing beverages, washing and preparing food, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth and making ice. GWMWater continues to monitor water quality at the water treatment plant.

The raw water has been removed from the clear water storages and the reticulation system and the Manangatang Water Treatment Plant has returned to normal production levels.

Please minimise outdoor water use while the storages re-fill.

If you experience any symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhoea in the coming days, please seek medical advice and let your GP know about the Do Not Drink Notice.

Thank you for your cooperation and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
