Lake Bellfield is located in the eastern Grampians near Halls Gap and has an inlet from Fyans Creek. Lake Bellfield supplies water to Halls Gap and Pomonal townships and is the main source of supply for the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline system, supported by Taylors Lake.
The water quality in Lake Bellfield has been badly affected by the 2006 Mt Lubra fires and subsequent floods in January 2011, with record levels of turbidity and colour being recorded.
The lake has some boating* and fishing activity all year round.
Swimming, picnic and viewing areas. Toilets are located at viewing area.
A private caravan park is located adjacent to the dam wall.
* Please note that boats with an internal combustion engine are not permitted at Lake Bellfield.
Internal combustion engines are banned.
Swimming is permitted.
Water skiing, jet skis and camping are not permitted.
Duck shooting is not permitted.
