At GWMWater, we are committed to managing our water supply to provide safe, high quality drinking water that consistently meets consumer and regulatory requirements. GWMWater is a water supplier within the terms of the Safe Drinking Water Act 2003, which has established a new legislative framework for assuring drinking water quality in Victoria. Drinking quality water is supplied to the following towns:
GWMWater also supply regulated (non-drinking) water to 46 towns. Please contact us at GWMWater for further information.
Information about a non-drinking water supply can be found in our brochure 'Living with an Untreated Water Supply' or contact your Environmental Health Officer at your local Council for enquiries about its 'fit for purpose'.
Section 30 of the Safe Drinking Water Act 2003 allows for the Secretary to the Department of Human Services to accept a written undertaking from a water supplier or water storage manager that certain actions will be performed. Water suppliers and water storage managers can apply to the Secretary for an undertaking in the event that they are, or are likely to be, in contravention of the Act or its associated regulations. The undertaking addresses how a water supplier or water storage manager will address the contravention and stop it from recurring.
