These works are essential as part of GWMWater’s commitment to improve water quality in Nhill. You may have experienced issues with water discolouration. The dirty water is due to iron in the drinking water pipeline reticulation system, that built up when the town was supplied with groundwater, and is now coming off the pipes.
GWMWater have been addressing this issue with a flushing and air scouring program, and are now looking at implementing other water quality improvement techniques in the next month to address this problem.The cleaning process takes time, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the coloured water. Works are essential and will be completed as quickly as possible to keep customer impact to a minimum.
