Urban accounts for water and environmental services includes an environmental contribution, effective from 1 October 2004. The contribution came into effect for rural customers on 1 July 2005.

The environmental contribution is forwarded to the Victorian Government and is used to improve and protect our rivers and water sources, save water in towns and farms, and support water-recycling initiatives.
